Romelu Lukaku has revealed the reason for his return to Chelsea was the club’s thirst for victory and continued success.
The Belgian international joined the Blues from Inter Milan for 115 million euros after weeks of negotiations between the two clubs before settling in last week.
“I really don’t want to talk about personal ambitions. But they lean in with the wishes of the club. That’s why I’m back here,” the Belgian forward told the club’s website.
“Chelsea want to keep winning. Maintain continuous team growth And they want to dominate both England and Europe. That’s what I want and now I’m here. So it’s up to me to help the team achieve anything that could happen.”
For Lukaku, he just helped Inter win the Serie A title last season. But the team faced financial problems so badly that they had to let Ashav Hakimi leave the team, including parting ways with Antonio Conte, the coach who led the team to the championship.
